Teaching Assistant/ Midday Supervisor 

Overview

St Mark’s C of E Primary School is looking for an enthusiastic and hard-working Teaching Assistant to support class teachers and work with a range of pupils. The role also includes Midday Supervisor responsibilities to help secure the safety, welfare and good conduct of pupils during the lunchtime break period and assist with the dining hall duties. This role is initially offered on a part time basis, but full time would be considered for the right candidate.

Personal attributes

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with children.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how to support children and aid their development.
  • An ability to deploy strategies to allow learners to engage with the curriculum creatively.
  • Very good numeracy/literacy skills.
  • Some knowledge and skills in ICT.
  • NVQ3 Teaching Assistant Course or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Want to work as part of a hardworking, dedicated and cohesive team.
  • Have a friendly, helpful, caring and flexible approach.
  • The ability to identify their own learning needs and actively seek learning opportunities.
  • A general understanding of the curriculum and other basic learning strategies or programmes.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A good attention to detail; and
  • A good sense of humour.

Grade:                                           Aquinas Grade A3.1

Full time salary:                       £25,434.00 p.a.

 

Teaching Assistant

Hours:                                    15 hours per week 08:30-11:45 Monday to Friday

Weeks:                                   39 Weeks per year

Pro-Rata salary:                £9,075.15 p.a 

 

Midday Supervisor

Hours:                                       7.5 hours per week 11:45- 13:15 Monday to Friday

Weeks:                                      38 Weeks per year

Pro-Rata salary:                  £4,537.58 p.a.
