Individual Support Assistant (ISA)

Salary: £12,544 per annum

Hours: 27.5 hours per week, Term-time

Trinity Church of England Primary School, a member of the Aquinas Education Trust, is a two-form entry primary school with a Specialist Provision.
We are looking for a dedicated and resourceful individual to work in our Specialist Provision. The Provision mostly caters for pupils with severe learning disabilities and provides all pupils with a safe and nurturing environment to learn in. We are looking for an individual to work on a one-to-one basis with a named Reception child with Dystonia, following a learning programme led by the class teacher. You will attend training sessions to support the child’s physical and self-care needs and subsequently implement these strategies on a daily basis.
Working under the guidance of teaching and senior staff, you will enable access to learning for the named pupil within the classroom and outdoor learning environments. Applicants should be confident in following teacher planning and implementation in class support. You should have a passion for teaching and learning and promoting the well-being and safeguarding of children.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ISA or someone who is passionate about improving the life experiences of our pupils. Candidates should possess the following:

- Experience of working with children with SEN
- An understanding of how to support children and aid their development
- An understanding and interest in Nurture, communication and promoting well-being
- An ability to deploy strategies to allow learners to engage with the curriculum creatively
- Ability to follow a given learning plan
- The physical fitness to carry out physical tasks involved in Physio and personal care
